The very unsightly Upper Door Ding.
We see this dent a lot at The Dent Guy. Hitting another vehicle’s mirror, with your door during windstorms; the kids opening the door wildly, squeezing in-between with your briefcase or purse, or you bump your door into other cars? Located above the door handle; in the upper door along the door edge, and through the body line.
Back when Dan was providing paintless dent repair services to dealerships, he often saw car doors flying open in the parking lot, we even see doors fly at home.

How do you avoid these dings?
When parking, keep your eye on where other car door mirrors are. The contact-point on that mirror is so small, on your door panel, it doesn’t take a lot of force to dent it. You tend to see it happen with truck mirrors, they can hit at higher points. Locally we know how tight parking lots can get, especially at the East Avenue Wegmans, and parking downtown.
